Infrastructure around NSW in 2006

Although many of the structures that once graced the rail network of NSW have been demolished, there are still some fine examples of 19th century railway infrastructure in existence, even on the main lines. Some of the old stations are still in active service.

The sun is setting at Raglan, near Bathurst, on 24 April 2006. The station was last attended on a regular basis in 1988, but the closure of the signal box saw the removal of the remaining personnel. Now surrounded by a security fence and facing an uncertain future, the station still stands.
